JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) -- Jefferson County deputies and detectives were contacted by the Brighton Police Department at around 11:30 Saturday night to investigate a homicide that occurred on Jaybird Road and Edwards Street. Upon arrival, they were informed that there were two crime scenes.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, detectives found a 19-year-old male victim in the roadway near a silver passenger vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
At the second crime scene, which was a short distance from the homicide location, detectives discovered an abandoned blue passenger vehicle. Evidence suggested that an occupant of the vehicle may have been injured.
