Less humid air and cooler temperatures this week

Monday: A return to more comfortable air as we start the new work week. Following the passage of a cold front Sunday afternoon, high temperatures will stay at or below 90° for many of us starting Monday. Expect upper 80s with lots of sunshine and less muggy air.

Looking Ahead: This cold front will usher in refreshing air through at least Wednesday night. This will allow for some cooler overnights as much of the region drops into the middle 60s each night for the first half of this week. The coolest morning appears to be Wednesday when it’s likely those just outside of Birmingham and points north will easily drop into the upper 50s! This will feel like an early taste of Fall here in the Deep South.

Moving into the end of this week, a subtle warming trend will begin on Thursday. High temperatures climb back to near average in the lower 90s with a bit more cloud cover returning during the afternoon hours on Thursday and Friday. A couple of upper air disturbances move through, but they appear moisture-starved. Measurable rain is not expected over the next 7 days. It’s a very quiet week of weather with very comfortable conditions in place.
