Sunday: Strong storms develop this afternoon in advance of a cold front. The primary area for the stronger storms is mainly south of Interstate 20. That's south of a line from Tuscaloosa-Birmingham-Anniston. While storms will remain scattered, anything that does develop will be capable of producing gusty wind, hail, heavy downpours, and frequent lightning. The main time frame is from 2pm-7pm.

Otherwise, hot and steamy with highs in the middle 90s and afternoon heat index values in excess of 105° at times.

This Week: Fantastic weather beginning Monday, featuring cooler temperatures and noticeably lower humidity. Highs hold in the upper 80s, and with comfortable humidity along with a pleasant north breeze you can't ask for anything better across Alabama in the month of August! In fact, many areas across North Alabama will dip into the upper 50s by Wednesday morning.

Tracking the Tropics: Tropical Storm Ernesto will likely briefly restrengthen to a hurricane as it moves north in The Atlantic, but will remain over open water and is no longer a threat to land.
