BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- "The Brown Sugar Nutcracker" will be holding its annual auditions at Ursula Smith Dance Studio on Aug, 17.
The production is searching for dancers from 6 years old to adults who are strong in ballet, jazz, African, Modern and hip-hop dance techniques. "The Brown Sugar Nutcracker" is a twist on the traditional "The Nutcracker" story that blends dance styles and celebrates different cultures.
Those who want to audition must present their headshot and resume. There is a $35 audition fee. The registration form can be found here. Below are the times for auditions on Aug. 17:
- Ages 6-8: 9:30-10:30 a.m.
- Ages 9-12: 10:45-11:45 a.m.
- Ages 13-16: Noon-1 p.m.
- Ages 17 and up: 1:15-2:15 p.m.
- Call backs: 3-4 p.m.
