Tonight: Mostly cloudy and becoming less humid. It will be breezy with lows in the middle to upper 60s.

Tomorrow: Eastly winds will continue across the area keeping the humidity more comfortable. We will be mostly cloudy with a few showers possible over western Alabama. It will be cooler with highs in the lower to middle 80s.


Wetter weather returns Thursday and Friday from an upper-level wave moving across a coastal stalled cold front. However, the forecast models do not agree with the amount of rain we will receive through Friday. Thursday will be mostly cloudy with scattered showers and storms developing by afternoon. The rain will continue into Thursday night. Some downpours are possible. Highs will only be in the lower 80s.

The wave will continue to move across Alabama on Friday ahead of a cold front. We will be mostly cloudy and cooler with more showers and storms. The possible rain totals between Thursday and Friday will be around 1-2". High temperatures will only be in the upper 70s.


Weekend Outlook: The cold front will move through on Saturday morning, and we will become sunny by the afternoon. It will be warmer and breezy with highs in the middle 80s. This weather will be perfect for all of the local college football games! High pressure will stay north of Alabama on Sunday drawing down dry air. We will start the day much cooler with lows in the upper 50s. Sunday afternoon will be sunny and warm with low humidity. Highs will be in the lower 80s. It stays cool Sunday night with lows in the 50s.

Tracking the Tropics: A disorganized tropical wave is located in the Central Caribbean Sea. It is moving WNW and has a medium chance of developing into a tropical depression once it enters the Western Caribbean and SW Gulf of Mexico.
There is a disorganized tropical wave located in the Central Atlantic. It has a low chance of developing before the end of the week when the environment is not favorable for development.
Lastly, there is another disorganized tropical wave near the Cabo Verde Islands. It is moving WNW and has a low chance of developing into a tropical depression later this week in the Central Atlantic where conditions are favorable for development.
