BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- The NBA G League released the Birmingham Squadron's schedule for the 2024-25 season on Tuesday.
The Squadron is set to host 24 home games in its fourth season in Birmingham. The first game in Legacy Arena is versus the Mexico City Capitanes on Nov. 9.
The schedule is divided into two parts. The first section is a 16-game tip-off tournament, and the next part is a 34-game regular season. Every G League franchise will compete in at least 50 games throughout the campaign.
In the tip-off tournament, there are four regions where clubs will play 14 contests against in-group opponents. Birmingham will compete in the south region against the Capitanes, Austin Spurs, Texas Legends, Oklahoma City Blue, Rio Grande Valley Vipers, Memphis Hustle and Osceola Magic.
The team with the best winning percentage in each region, as well as the next best four teams, will compete for a championship at the NBA G League Winter Showcase. All franchises will find the floor in at least two games at the showcase, which will occur from Dec. 19-22.
The regular season, which will not include records from the tip-off tournament, will start Dec. 27. The Squadron is scheduled to face the Raptors 905 in Mississauga, Ontario, that day. Birmingham's home opener for the regular season is set against the Capital City Go-Go on Jan. 10. The top six franchises from each conference will make the NBA G League Playoffs.
