ARAB, Ala. (WHNT) — An Arab toddler has died one week after she was pulled from a swimming pool.
On Monday night, Rebekah Satterfield, mother of 2-year-old Violet, shared on Facebook that Violet had passed, saying "We only had two years with you, but they were filled with the happiest moments of my life. I will carry you with me in my veins until the day I see you again, my love ... Wear purple for my baby while we celebrate her short life. Daddy and I love you so much, Violet. Until we meet again."
According to her Facebook page, Violet underwent two brain death tests on Sunday, both of which did not go well. Satterfield said Violet would undergo another exam on Monday but was expected to have similar results.
The Tennessee Valley and beyond have rallied around the Satterfield family after learning the tragic news that Violet was found in a pool on Monday, July 1. Violet was flown to UAB to be treated for the drowning.
Violet's mom said no plans for services had been made yet. A GoFundMe was created to help Violet’s family with her medical journey.
