Tuesday: The remnants of Beryl will move into the Middle Mississippi River Valley on Tuesday. Feeder bands into the center of the low will move into Alabama during the afternoon and evening. A few storms could be noisy with loud thunder, frequent lightning, heavy rain, and gusty winds. It will be hot and humid with highs in the lower 90s.
Wednesday: A cold front associated with the low from Beryl will move across Alabama on Wednesday. This front will be mostly dry, but an isolated shower can't be ruled out. High temperatures will be a little cooler as they only climb into the upper 80s.
Thursday/Friday: High pressure will build across the Eastern U.S. behind the cold front on Thursday and Friday. This will bring Alabama plenty of sunshine with less humid northerly winds. It will be hot, but not as sticky with high temperatures in the lower to middle 90s.
Weekend Outlook: The area of high pressure will move over the northern Gulf of Mexico this weekend. An upper-level area of high pressure will sit south of Alabama, but be close enough to bring us hot weather. Saturday and Sunday will be partly cloudy, hot, and more humid with a few pop-up storms each day. High temperatures will be in the upper 90s and the heat index around 100-105°.
Tracking the Tropics: Hurricane Beryl made landfall around 4:00 AM near Matagorda, TX with winds of 80 mph. Once inland, it turned north and will turn northeast on Tuesday and become a remnant low by Tuesday night. This will spread heavy rain and tornadoes across Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. An outer rainband will move across the Southeast U.S. on Tuesday and spread heavy rain across Mississippi and Alabama.
