BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- Alabama's largest celebration of Hispanic culture, Fiesta BHAM, and heritage has announced that its scholarship application process is now open.
Applications will be accepted online from July 15 through Aug. 31. Students interested in applying for a Fiesta scholarship can click here. Fiesta will award five $5,000 scholarships at its event on Saturday, Sept. 28. Fiesta will award a specialized $5,000 scholarship to a Latina student studying in the culinary, hospitality or restaurant management fields.
“Fiesta was created to provide educational scholarships to deserving Hispanic students in our state and in our 22nd year as a festival, we are delighted to be providing $25,000 in Fiesta Scholarships,” stated Teresa Zuniga Odom, Fiesta Advisory Board Scholarship Chair.
