TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) -- A 25-year-old is in police custody following a double homicide in Tuscaloosa Tuesday night.
According to Captain Jack Kennedy with Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, police were called to a home on the 3700 block of 25th Place around 10:20 p.m. on reports of a shooting. Officers discovered 62-year-old Antionette Hawkins and 63-year-old Mcran James Montgomery shot to death inside the home.
Kennedy said officers found 25-year-old Keaundra Lee Hawkins outside the home and evidence suggesting he was the shooter. Hawkins is currently charged with one count of capital murder and is being held without bond.
The victims in the shooting were Keaundre Lee Hawkins' mother and her boyfriend. The investigation remains active at this time.
