TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) — On Monday, the University of Alabama Hockey team announced the launch of its "Frozen Fundraiser Campaign" for vital support this season.

The team is preparing to embark on its 2024-25 season, which will feature a 38 game schedule that includes 18 road games.

According to a press release from the team, its operating cost will come close to $200,000 for the year. Since Alabama Hockey is a club sport, the team receives a small amount of funding from the university and relies heavily on player dues.

As such, the Frozen Tide is campaigning to raise $50,000 before the start of the season. Each donation will cover costs for equipment, ice time, team gear, travel expenses and other necessities.

All donations are 501c3 Tax Deductible via Alabama Hockey Booster Club. More information on the budget breakdown and how to donate can be found by clicking here. Alabama Hockey’s season runs from August to March.
