ECLECTIC, Ala. (WIAT) — A new piece of equipment will provide fun for kids side-by-side at a resource center in north Alabama.
The Children's Harbor at the Harbor Lodge Family Camp unveiled a $750,000 playground, designed to provide activities for children of all abilities. The playground features ramps, musical and sensory elements as well as a merry-go-round that can support two wheelchairs.
The site also includes a large pavilion with shade and seats. The playground is not open to the public and will be used year-round by the private facility's family camps.
Children’s Harbor provides refuge, respite and resources to families with seriously ill children seeking support.
