BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- Two Colombian nationals were charged with drug-trafficking on an Alabama interstate.
Cristian Lugo-Beltran, 24, and Johan Zapata-Valencia, 23, were charged with conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute cocaine and possession with the intent to distribute cocaine.
The indictment states that Lego-Beltran and Zapata-Valencia possessed with the intent to distribute five kilogram or more of cocaine on Feb. 6, 2024. A traffic stop was initiated on both men on I-65 in Shelby County.
