Sunday: The stormy, unsettled weather continues as we wrap up the weekend. Rain and storms increase in coverage throughout the day, becoming widespread by afternoon. While this is not a significant severe weather situation, storms will be capable of producing gusty wind, heavy downpours, and frequent lightning.

Next Week: Scattered storms redevelop Monday afternoon, followed by a drier and hotter weather pattern by midweek. Highs return to the low and middle 90s with heat index values over 100, along with a few afternoon storms on a daily basis.

Tracking the Tropics: A wave in the Atlantic has a 40% chance for development over the next seven days. While this is not an immediate concern to The Gulf of Mexico, it is something we'll closely monitor.
