HOOVER, Ala. (WIAT) -- Fans at Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux in Hoover reacted to Auburn being No. 1 and Alabama coming in at No. 2 in the AP Top 25 men's basketball poll released Monday.
"I'm a big Auburn fan, so I'm pretty happy for it," said Auburn fan Kourtney Jones. "I hope we stay No. 1."
The two programs will face in Tuscaloosa at 3 p.m. Saturday. Auburn is 21-2 overall and 9-1 in SEC play. On the other hand, the Crimson Tide is 20-3 in all games and 9-1 versus conference competition.
"I got Auburn winning," said Birmingham resident Carmelo Burroughs. "I feel like Auburn's got some good shooters out there ready to knock down some shots from every angle on the court."
"I think it's going to be really hyped, really fun and really loud, and I can't wait," said Alabama fan Nikole Kuykendall.
Before the No. 1 versus No. 2 matchup, the Tide and the Tigers will be on the road Tuesday. Alabama competes against Texas, while Auburn takes on Vanderbilt.
