Thursday: The southwest flow pattern will continue Thursday with the trough over the Southeast U.S., but a front will be stalled south of Birmingham, or near Montgomery. This will help to reduce the chance of storms. We will be mostly cloudy with scattered showers and storms, but the overall coverage will be lower than Wednesday. Some rain could still be heavy at times. High temperatures will be in the middle 80s.

Friday: A little more sunshine with a partly cloudy sky. There will still be some pop-up afternoon/evening showers and storms, but the coverage will be lower than it has been across Central Alabama. High temperatures will heat up into the upper 80s.

Weekend Outlook: The weather pattern starts to change this weekend. The trough will move northeast as the Bermuda high pressure weakens and builds toward the Gulf of Mexico. This will reduce the chance for rain and temperatures will heat back up to start the weekend. Saturday will be partly cloudy with scattered showers and storms. High temperatures will be in the upper 80s to lower 90s. There will still be plenty of tropical moisture over the region, so expect Sunday to be partly cloudy with a better chance of showers and storms. High temperatures will be back in the upper 80s to lower 90s.
