Monday: Scattered showers and a few storms will be around for much of the day, increasing in coverage during the afternoon and evening hours. High temperatures will be in the middle 80s while the humidity remains very high.

Tuesday-Thursday: Temperatures will continue to stay below average over this week as consistent cloud cover and waves of rain/storms push through the area. Much of the Southeast is wedged in between a high and low pressure, focusing the best chances for rain here as well. Multiple disturbances will push through the region over the next week, each bringing their own rounds of meaningful rain to central Alabama.

Due to the ongoing drought conditions affecting much of the northern half of Alabama, every drop of rain will count. In fact, many areas need more than six inches to break the dry conditions. This week, 1-3” of additional rainfall is likely with the bulk of the rain falling on Tuesday through Thursday. This is when rain chances will spike back up to around 70-80%, so most of the area can expect heavy rainfall during this period.

Friday & The Weekend: Once we near the end of the week, rain chances do begin to dwindle as the ridge parked over the southwest Atlantic attempts to build back over the Southeast. High temperatures will also respond by starting to climb back into the lower 90s by the weekend.
