HUEYTOWN, Ala. (WIAT) -- Hueytown police are investigating a shooting that left a man dead Wednesday.
According to the Hueytown Police Department, officers arrived around 12:17 p.m. to the 1700 block of 28th Avenue on reports of shots fired and a person down. Upon arrival, officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound with life-threatening injuries. Hueytown Fire and Rescue responded, but the man died at the scene.
Police stated the shooter all witnesses stayed on the scene and cooperated with investigators. The Jefferson County District Attorney's Office Bessemer Cutoff will review case information after police complete their investigation.
