BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- Wind Creek Hospitality announced an agreement with the McGregor family to acquire the Birmingham Race Course Casino.
According to a news release, Wind Creek will turn the Birmingham Race Course Casino into an entertainment destination in the southeast and continue to offer pari-mutuel and horse racing games currently in operation at the facility. The sale is expected to be finalized by early 2025.
Wind Creek is based in Atmore and plans to expand the investments made in recent years at the Birmingham Race Course Casino. It'll be working with local elected and racing officials on steps moving forward as the sale becomes finalized and expansion plans are developed.
