BIRMINGHAM Ala. (WIAT) -- Voters in central Alabama still have decisions to make about how they are going to vote.

Some key issues identified today by CBS 42 are abortion, immigration and financial security,

When the polls open Tuesday, Samford University junior Lola Casey will be voting in her first election. She says she supports access to abortion, and that’s one of the issues that will be at the top of her mind when she enters the voting booth on Tuesday.

“I just feel like Kamala Harris, her views and policies align a little more than Trump's does,” said Casey.

Janette Marshall says abortion is also a deciding factor for her, but she plans to vote for Donald Trump.

“I don’t believe that it’s a woman’s right to abort a baby that is a separate life,” Marshall explained.

Rick Marshall says security was what pushed him to vote for Donald Trump. He explained that he feels like the country was in a better place globally under Trumps leadership.

“It’s our position to be the leader of the free world, and I think we have to take a stance to let the other nations understand that and realize that were going to take that role,” said Marshall.

Pye Parson will be voting for Kamala Harris. She says she came to the decision based upon the division she feels in the country.

‘Integrity, honesty, you know, I think we've gotten trapped into win lose situations, and I think we need to be able to win gracefully lose gracefully and accept basic truth, and I believe there is really one candidate offering that,” Parson said.
