BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- Submissions for the 27th annual Sidewalk Film Festival opened Friday.
Here are the deadlines for submissions:
- Earlybird Deadline -- Dec. 1.
- Regular Deadline -- Feb. 1.
- Late Deadline -- March 15.
- Extended Deadline -- April 30.
Sidewalk Film Festival was established in 1999, and it has been recognized by MovieMaker Magazine as one of the 25 Coolest Film Festivals in the World and by TIME Magazine as one of the Top 10 Festivals for the Rest of Us.
Sidewalk Film Festival aims to showcase a variety of films, providing a Life and Liberty track for civil and social issues, a Black Lens track for diversity-related topics and Black filmmakers, a SHOUT track for LGBTQ+ filmmakers and topics and a Family Festival track for family-friendly programming.
To be eligible for entry, submissions must have been completed after Jan. 1, 2023. Here's a full list of the festival's rules.
A list of all the categories and fees for entry can be found here. A 30% discount will be provided for Alabama-produced films and screenplays.
The 2025 Sidewalk Film Festival will be held from Aug. 18 to 24.
