CLANTON, Ala. (WIAT) -- A 32-year-old man from Jefferson County was arrested after allegedly robbing a bank at gunpoint Wednesday morning.
According to Clanton Police Department, employees at River Bank & Trust on 7th Street South reported a man robbed the location at around 9:20 a.m. Witnesses stated the suspect drove away in a white Dodge Challenger without a tag.
Later that day, a vehicle matching the description was located near I-65's exit 212. Authorities surrounded the subject after he refused to stop and he was taken into custody.
The suspect, identified by police as Michael Jimenez, was placed in the Chilton County Jail for first-degree robbery. There is no further information at this time.
