BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – On Monday, the Birmingham Squadron will be out in the community helping to develop future athletes. The Dunks & Dimes Skills Camp is back in its second installment to focus on basketball and financial literacy.

Leslie Claybrook is the General Manager of the Squadron. She was on the CBS 42 Morning News Sunday to talk about the first year of this camp.

“We talk about being more than 24 home games and this is just the evolution of those 24 home games getting out into the community with our first ever basketball camp,” Claybrook said.

The camp goes beyond basketball, helping boys and girls in grades 3-8 to develop life skills, too.

“It’s important for these students to learn more than just basketball,” Claybrook said. “We’ve got a great partner in Renasant Bank who is coming out to do some financial literacy with them. I sat through the first presentation, and I even learned some things of how to invest, how to save money and how to be ready for the future.”

Limited space is still available. You can register here. There are sponsorship opportunities available.

The camp is Monday, July 15 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at A4ONE located at 222 6th Avenue Southwest in Titusville.
