BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Birmingham's Crisis Center, Inc. is searching for new members for its Junior Board.
The Junior Board's purpose is to support the center by advising the center's staff, helping raise funds to support programming and providing support to volunteers.
“Joining the Junior Board is a great way to support the lifesaving care provided by the Crisis Center, while further developing our personal skills in fundraising and event planning,” president Baylee Clark stated in a press release.
The requirements for membership are as follows:
- Members must be ages 21- 40.
- Members must attend and actively participate in monthly meetings.
- Members must contribute to a minimum of an initial two-year term.
- Members must actively contribute to organizational activities.
The center's mission is to serve the unmet needs of people experiencing personal crises or mental health issues and promote coping, emotional health and well-being.
"In this day and age, it is so imperative that we focus on mental health and wellness as individuals and collectively as a community," Junior Board member Dr. Yuvraj Verma stated.
