Saturday: Summer steam increases this weekend as highs soar to the upper 90s to near 100 with heat index values in between 99° and 102°. Otherwise, plenty of sunshine with only a slight chance for a brief passing shower or storm. If you happen to receive a shower it will not last long, and most spots will remain dry.
Sunday: The heat continues and with increasing humidity levels, heat index values reach the 100-105 degree range. Once again, a passing shower is possible in isolated spots.
There is an Air Quality Alert for Saturday for Jefferson and Shelby Counties. If you have respiratory issues please limit your time outdoors. The rest of us please try to conserve energy by refueling your car after 6 PM, cutting the lawn after 6 PM & carpooling.
Next Week: A typical summertime weather pattern returns by midweek as highs trend down to the low and middle 90s along with isolated to scattered showers and storms.
