Tonight: the remnants of Helene are absorbed into an upper-level low over the Ohio River Valley, and it is slowly moving northeast. We will have lingering clouds and a few sprinkles with patchy dense fog tonight. Watch out for low visibility on Tuesday morning. Lows will be in the lower to middle 60s.

Tomorrow: We will continue to see the clouds and a few showers wrapping around the Ohio Valley low pressure across Central Alabama. It will be a little warmer with highs in the lower 80s.

A dry cold front will move across Alabama on Wednesday. We will be sunny with warmer high temperatures in the middle 80s. Thursday will continue to be sunny as high pressure sits over Alabama. High temperatures will be in the middle 80s.

We are watching for a possible tropical system in the Gulf of Mexico by the end of this week. On Friday, it could be in the Central Gulf as a tropical depression or storm. Ahead of any possible tropical system in the Gulf, an upper-level wave and cold front will move into Alabama on Friday. This will make it partly to mostly cloudy with a few showers. High temperatures will be in the lower 80s.

Weekend Outlook: The forecast will depend on the potential for a tropical system in the Gulf. It is too soon to say where it will go or how strong it will become. The latest forecast models show the cold front moving to South Alabama on Saturday and Sunday. This will likely keep anything in the Gulf away from Alabama, but it is too early to say. Based on this, Saturday will be partly cloudy with a few stray showers. High temperatures will be in the lower 80s. Sunday will be partly cloudy and dry with highs in the lower 80s. Please check back for updates all week.
