BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- Before Alabama basketball begins its much anticipated season with hopes of reaching the Final Four again, they'll tip-off against Wake Forest at the Boutwell Auditorium in a charity exhibition.
Alabama is expected to be ranked in the top five after bringing back a highly talented team and making a run to their first ever Final Four last season. Alabama finished the 2023-24 season ranked No. 3 in the nation, with a record of 25-12 (13-5 in the SEC). They defeated Charleston, Grand Canyon, North Carolina and Clemson before losing to the eventual national champion, UConn.
The "Bama in Boutwell" game is presented by Nike and Hibbett and will be played Friday, Oct. 18. Fans interested in tickets can click here. All proceeds will benefit Children's Hospital.
"There definitely is a desire, and those folks here in Birmingham that obviously follow Alabama basketball are excited about any opportunity they can get to see Alabama play. So, I definitely think the hype around the program and the success that they've had over the last several years has kind of led us to a place where the demand for an exhibition game like this is going to be really high," said Knight Eady.
