The Alabama Department of Environmental Management recently awarded $2.5 million in recycling grants to cities, counties, agencies and nonprofits across the state. The grants were funded by the Alabama Recycling Fund, which is made possible by the Solid Wastes and Recyclable Materials Management Act.
