BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — A former state trooper with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency has resigned following his arrest on several sex charges involving a child.
On Friday, Ryan Rhodes resigned from his post in the wake of his arrest in Montgomery County on charges of electronic solicitation of a child, traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act and resisting arrest.
According to court records, Rhodes was arrested at a hotel on the eastside of Montgomery at midnight Friday, after he allegedly had communicated with a minor about having sex with them. In addition, Rhodes reportedly resisted arrest, trying to push deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office off of him.
The case remains under investigation.
