BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — A new restaurant that offers a throwback to diners from the 1950s and 60s is now open in Birmingham's Avondale neighborhood.
Joyland, a Nashville-based restaurant from award-winning chef Sean Brock, has opened its official second location in Avondale in the spot formerly occupied by Rodney Scott's on Third Avenue South. The restaurant, which was first announced back in February, officially opened Thursday.
Brock was the longtime executive chef of Husk in Charleston, South Carolina. He also runs the restaurants Audrey and June in Nashville, and has published two cookbooks, "Heritage" and "SOUTH."
Joyland will be open 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. every day. Its full menu can be found here.
