NORTHPORT, Ala. (WIAT) -- Authorities are on the scene of a fatal shooting in Northport Thursday morning.
According to Capt. Jack Kennedy, Northport police were called to the 3700 block of 17th Street North around 5:45 a.m. on reports of a shooting. They arrived on the scene and located Otis Coleman, 37, dead from a gunshot wound. Family reported that Coleman's nephew, Keyontae Coleman had killed him.
He was charged with one count of murder and is in jail with no bond. The motive is still under investigation.
