BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- Birmingham City Council President Pro Tempore Wardine Alexander, District Seven and the Birmingham City Council will host the Safe Summer Series on Sunday, Aug. 18.
According to the Safe Summer Series website, the event was initially created in 2021 to provide the community with a safe space to gather from COVID-19 and violence. Throughout the inaugural 2021-2022 season, an estimated 50,000 people attended.
This Sunday, musical artists Raheem DeVaughn and Logan the Entertainer will be performing at the event. The show will begin at 6 p.m.
