Center Point man pleads guilty to illegal firearm possession

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- A convicted felon from Center Point pleaded guilty to illegally possessing firearms, according to U.S. Attorney Prim F. Escalona.

Ro'Daryus Mitchell, 27, pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm Tuesday.

According to the plea agreement, on May 31, 2023, the United States Marshals Service began the search for Mitchell. He was located at a residence in Birmingham where multiple guns and ammunition were located.

Warrants for his arrest included 22 counts of unlawful breaking and entering a vehicle, four counts of second-degree theft of property, second-degree receiving stolen property and a probation revocation warrant for violation of the States Firearms Act. ATF assisted in the investigation.
