BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- A 36-year-old Birmingham man was arrested following the fatal shooting of Ladarrius Kennedy on July 29.
According to Birmingham Police Department, Kennedy was shot during an assault on the 1000 block of 3rd Avenue West. He was transported to UAB Hospital where he died from his injuries on Aug 6.
Shortly after the shooting, officers arrested Justin Hall near Rickwood Field. Hall was initially booked into the Jefferson County Jail on a charge of attempted murder. Police said Hall's charges will be upgraded now that Kennedy has died from his injuries.
Police said a motive in the shooting is unclear.
