HOOVER, Ala. (WKRG) -- Video recovered from a recent Hoover football practice shows two incidents that sources claim led to two coaches being put on administrative leave Tuesday.

In Hudl video obtained by WKRG of a recent Hoover football practice, an athletic department employee can be seen thrusting his hips towards a Bucs football player's face while the player was lying on the ground. In a separate clip, another employee can be seen running towards a player during a drill, knocking him to the ground while forcefully removing his helmet.

On Tuesday, the school system confirmed that head coach Drew Gilmer and defensive coordinator Adam Helms had been put on leave.

Head Coach Dave Gilmer was hired at Hoover in January after seven years at Clay-Chalkville High School.

“The safety and well-being of our students and staff are our top priorities,” Hoover Schools Superintendent Kevin Maddox said in a statement. “We are taking this matter seriously and working diligently to resolve it promptly and fairly.”

The school system is investigating the case.

Hoover is set to start the season against Spain Park on Aug. 30.
