Tuesday: Debby will slowly crawl eastward across North Florida and South Georgia. Alabama will be on the northwest side of the system, and that will bring us drier air. We will be mostly sunny, hot, and drier. High temperatures will be in the mid to upper 90s. Enough humidity will still remain to bring the heat index up between 100° and 105°.
Rest of the Week: Debby will continue to crawl across the coast of South Carolina on Wednesday and Thursday spreading torrential flooding rains totaling 15-20"+ to parts of Georgia and the Carolinas. We will continue to be on the dry side of the system across Central Alabama. A cold front will move into Alabama by Friday, but with no moisture to work with we don't expect any rain with it. It will also bring us some slightly cooler morning temperatures, but highs remain in the low 90s through at least early next week.
Wednesday through Friday will be mostly sunny, hot, and less humid. Highs will be in the upper 90s on Wednesday, and then the middle 90s Thursday and Friday. The heat index will only be around 100.
Weekend Outlook: The cold front will move across Alabama this weekend, and it will be dry thanks to the subsidence (sinking air) from the backside of Debby.
Saturday and Sunday will be mostly sunny and hot with low humidity levels for this time of year. High temperatures will be a tad cooler in the lower 90s. We could have some cooler mornings with lows in the upper 60s.
