Tonight: The slightly lower humidity will stick around through tonight, allowing for a comfortable night with temperatures dropping into the lower to middle 70s as skies become mostly clear.
Sunday: Another dry is expected as high pressure keeps us mostly sunny with temperatures climbing into the middle 90s. It will still be just humid enough to make the heat index around 100°.
Looking Ahead: Very quiet weather is shaping up for this week as we become placed on the backside of Tropical Storm Debby when it moves ashore in north Florida on Monday. This will continue to keep winds out of the northerly direction for much of this week since the tropical system is forecast to meander around the north Florida, south Georgia, and Carolinas for several days. The weather pattern will become stuck in place through this period with slightly drier air being pulled into central Alabama from the northerly winds.
The lack of moisture along with sinking air on the backside of Debby will allow temperatures to warm into the middle 90s by midweek, with the hottest day being Wednesday when widespread upper 90s are expected. This will also keep our weather fairly tranquil outside of a very small shower chance on Monday. Cloud coverage and possible rain showers will depend on how much Debby attempts to wobble westward later this week.
