TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) -- A Bessemer man was killed in a Tuscaloosa County crash Thursday afternoon, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports.
The crash happened on Alabama 216 around 2:21 p.m. about five miles east of Brookwood. Wayne Chastine, 57, was fatally injured when the Toyota Corolla he was driving departed the road, hit a tree and overturned. Chastine, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger in the Corolla sustained injuries and was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center for treatment. Troopers with the ALEA's Highway Patrol Division are investigating the crash.
