BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- Stavros Halkias, a comedian who rose to fame from a podcast with an unprintable name and parlayed that popularity with concert tours and a movie, is coming to Birmingham this spring for a comedy show.
Halkias, who is often associated with fellow comedians Adam Friedland and Nick Mullen on a podcast that became one of the most popular programs on Patreon, will perform at the Lyric on April 7 as part of his "The Dreamboat" tour.
Originally from Baltimore, Halkias began working in the New York comedy scene shortly after graduating from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Within a few years, coupled with his podcast appearances and growing list of standup gigs, Halkias released his first comedy special "Live at The Lodge Room," in 2022. The following year, he released two additional specials, "Four Nights in NYC" and "Stavros Halkias: Fat Rascal."
Last year, Halkias starred in his first movie, "Let's Start a Cult," which he co-wrote with Ben Kitnick and Wes Haney.
