BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- A Birmingham convicted felon was sentenced to over four years in prison for illegally possessing a firearm.
Keundre Brown, 25, was sentenced to 57 months in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to U.S. Attorney Prim Escalona on Tuesday.
A Birmingham police officer responded to a call regarding a shooting at a motel on October 11, 2023, according to the plea agreement. Brown was found inside of a motel room that showed evidence of gunfire, with the shots appearing to have been fired from inside the room.
Brown was searched, and officers found a gun in his waistband, according to the plea agreement. The pistol was reported stolen, and Brown is prohibited from possessing a firearm because of prior felony convictions.
