BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- A major food merchandiser in Pelham will be laying off over 60 people this spring.
Southeastern Food Merchandisers will layoff 62 people as part of sweeping layoffs, according to a WARN notice the company posted online. The layoffs were first reported Feb. 25.
The company was founded in 1983 and now operates six remote storage facilities across the Southeast. According to its website, its two main clients are Jack's and Wendy's.
Layoffs are expected to go through April 27.
