FAIRFIELD, Ala. (WIAT) -- A 19-year-old has been charged in connection to the fatal shooting that occurred at Western Hills Mall on Sunday, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.
At around 5 p.m. Sunday, deputies with the JCSO responded to a report of a person shot at the Western Hills Mall. They discovered a 21-year-old victim, suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to UAB Hospital for treatment. It was later discovered that a second victim was injured and taken to Princeton Hospital by private vehicle. The second victim, identified as 32-year-old Darin Marquese Hall, died from his injuries.
The suspect has been identified as Tavion Jermaine Perry, 19. Perry was charged with Murder and Attempted Murder. He is in custody of the Jefferson County Jail with no bond.
