BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- Birmingham police arrived on the scene of a homicide investigation Friday night.
According to the Birmingham Police Department, the investigation is occurring in the 100 block of Penthouse Drive. BPD responded to a call of a person shot at around 9:25 p.m. When they arrived at the scene, they discovered an adult male inside a vehicle suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue services pronounced the victim dead on the scene.
Based on preliminary investigation, BPD believes that the victim was sitting in the vehicle when an unknown suspect approached and fired shots into the vehicle.
