The matchup marks the first time in SEC history that two teams within the conference ranked No. 1 and No. 2 have faced off, with the last time in general coming back in 2008 when Tennessee and Memphis played.
The top ranked Auburn Tigers will take on the No. 2 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide at Coleman Coliseum at 3:00 p.m.
And finally, Alabama Athletic Director Greg Byrne, who brought Nate Oats to Tuscaloosa, joined CBS 42 Morning News to speak on the game and what to expect for Coleman Coliseum in the future.
The two will meet again in their final regular season game on March 8 in Neville Arena.
