BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- Tickets sales are pouring in for the 2025 NCAA Women's College Basketball Tournament. According to Ticketmaster, the tickets range from $183 to $425.
The two-round tournament, held at Legacy Arena on March 30 and March 31, is expected to draw in thousands to the Magic City.
The City of Birmingham's Director of the Department of Innovation and Economic Opportunity, Cornell Wesley, believes the tournament is expected to be an economic boost for the city as they're expecting Legacy Arena to be a full house filled with women's college basketball fans from all over the country.
With Birmingham being one of two cities hosting the two-round tournament, Wesley said it shows the city is growing a reputation as a sports and entertainment hub.
"These investments are yielding benefits. So, we're starting to see the return on betting on ourselves. By investing in the infrastructure what you're communicating to the country is that you have the capacity, and you have the space and the buildings, to host these sorts of events," said Wesley.
The bracket that showcases the teams and who they will play against will be revealed Sunday March 16.
