RAINBOW CITY, Ala. (WIAT) -- An officer with the Gadsden Police Department who allegedly committed domestic violence was arrested Sunday morning.
Lt. Jordan McCartney with the Rainbow City Police Department stated that at around 2 a.m., officers responded to a third-party report of a domestic incident in the 3700 block of Rainbow Drive. After investigating on scene, Skylor Strickland, 24, was arrested. McCartney stated formal charges against Strickland are pending.
"We take this matter very seriously and we are fully committed to cooperating with Rainbow City’s investigation," said Sgt. Dusty Ford with the GPD in a statement.
According to the GPD, Strickland was not in an active enforcement role within the department at the time of his arrest. The case is under investigation.
