COOSA COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) -- Two people are dead following a crash in Coosa County on Saturday evening, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
Kelderick Williams, 34, of Vestavia Hills, was fatally injured when the BMW 325xi he was driving was hit by a Nissan Murano. Williams, who was reportedly not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene. The crash happened around 5 p.m. on U.S. 231 about six miles south of Rockford.
Linda Thrasher, a 70-year-old woman from Oxford, was a passenger in the Murano. She was taken to Elmore Community Hospital, where she died from her injuries. The Murano's driver was transported to Baptist Medical Center South for treatment.
Troopers with the ALEA's Highway Patrol Division are investigating the crash.
