OAK MOUNTAIN, Ala. (WIAT) -- A 47-year-old man who drowned at Oak Mountain State Park was identified Thursday morning.
According to Shelby County Coroner Lina Evans, Jason Beck, of Wellington, drowned while swimming at the park on Wednesday afternoon.
Members of Pelham's fire department began searching for Beck after he was reported missing near a dam around 3 p.m. Beck's body was recovered shortly after 4 p.m.
Evans added that it appears Beck was trying to swim a distance when he started cramping and went under the water.
