Weekend Outlook: The Arctic cold front will push across Alabama on Saturday with more rain through the morning. It will taper off to a few showers in the afternoon with mild highs around 60.

The Arctic Blast arrives on Sunday with lingering clouds. High temperatures will be in the middle 40s in the morning and will fall to the 30s in the afternoon. Sunday night will be breezy and frigid with lows in the upper teens to lower 20s. The wind chill will be in the single digits to teens.

Next Week's Outlook: Monday, MLK Day, will be frigid with a partly cloudy sky and highs in the 30s. The forecast model trends continue to show a threat of a winter storm on Tuesday and Wednesday with possible snow and freezing rain. High temperatures will be in the 30s and lows in the teens to 20s.

The GFS model shows the better threat for a wintry mix on Thursday and Friday with highs in the 30s and lows in the 20s.
