HAMILTON, Ala. (WIAT) -- The search for the missing 39-year-old Hamilton woman continues as her family holds out hope that Chasity Terry is still alive.

“I love her, and I miss her, and I want her to come home, and I hope that she sees this,” said Courney Posey, Terry's daughter, Wednesday.

Marion County Sheriff Kevin Williams said Terry was in an orange Jeep with Charles Williams Jr., and that the two had driven to the Birmingham area to purchase narcotics before being spotted on video surveillance exiting a Love’s gas station store in Jasper early Friday morning. Law enforcement does not have video from the parking lot, however.

“She’s just a good person. She really is," Posey said. "She struggles, just like everybody else, but she is a good person."

Her daughter noted that her mother has struggled with addiction issues, but Posey thought she was doing better before she went missing. Terry has three adult children and two grandchildren.

Posey described her mother as a doting grandmother with a stubborn streak.

“She’s stubborn, super stubborn," Posey said. "One of the most resilient people that I know.”

Photos taken during happier times show Posey with Terry.

“It still is a missing person investigation,” Kevin Williams said. “We treat it as a homicide, and the reason being is we’ve got search warrants for the vehicle. We had search warrants for the cell phone data. We have search warrants for Mr. Williams’ living. We searched his house.”

According to the sheriff, Charles Williams was arrested and booked into the Marion County Jail for conspiracy to commit a controlled substance crime and is a suspect in the case.

The investigation is ongoing, and the sheriff said they’re running down leads and have investigators talking with different people throughout the county.

Posey has not given up looking for her.

“Sometimes at night when I can’t sleep, I go and like ride I-22, and I just want to see her walking down the road and then pick her up," Posey said. "So that’s really what I hope happens.”

Anyone with any information that may be helpful in this case is asked to call the Hamilton Police Department at 205-921-7424 or the Marion County Sheriff’s Office at 205-921-7433.
